wyvy.net / writing / a poem about spring

Canopy glowing like gemstones.
Leaf-mulch ferments in the shade.
A branch-sitting songbird is tweeting
a short lonely tune that it’s made.

Fallen trees with moss as their blankets
sleep as the critters awake
to fresh shoots exploring the frigid spring air
on the bank of a green woodland lake.
